The Band Page
I still get to play on the weekends. I'm playing with a great Party Cover Band Sprung and,  an all original Group...The Way it Breaks
.

Personality Bio
I was Born and Raised right here in Texas!  I think I have a different perspective in radio because, I've been on both sides of radio behind the Mic of course and, I spent seven years of my life on and off the road with different bands.  I played drums with Ty England www.tyengland.net for 3 years and even got to play several times with Garth Brooks Stillwater band.  After that it was on the road with Rick Trevino www.Ricktrevino.com.  I finally gave up the dream of being a big Rockstar and settled into an awesome gig here at Kvet!  I still play on the weekends with a local cover band Sprung. www.sprungmusic.com.  I've also just recorded a new album with The Way it Breaks. Check out the new website at www.thewayitbreaks.com ...Go out and support Live Music Tonight!!!

Favorite Artists: I love all kinds of music but, if we're talking Country it's gotta be Merle Haggard.  The Hag will always have a place in my Cd player!  I love the Texas music scene and the brotherhood or fraternity that it represents.  The Texas Artists and Musicians definately stick together. I've got Asleep at the Wheel, Merle's Greatest hits,  Waylon,  Pat Green,Two tons of Steel live at Gruene Hall, The Randy Rogers Band!!

Education:   Graduate of Belton High School...Go Tigers!  University of Texas, Southwest Texas State University.  Degree in Music Education....Look at me now.
Hobbies:  I love to hit the Lake as often as possible. The scenery here in Austin is Unbelievable. You can't beat a beer and some Live Music!  Texas Longhorn Football!!
I landed the coolest most wanted job for any longhorn fan!  I get to hold the Parabolic Mic for Host Communications and the Texas Longhorn Radio Network.  I get to roam the sidelines with the big Salad Bowl looking Microphone picking up the sounds of the action for all the games.  I stood a foot away from Vince Young when he scored the go ahead TD to win the Rosebowl.......Say NO MORE!
What's your favorite part of radio: The music. They say every DJ is a frustrated Musician and every Musician wants to be on the air. That definitely fits with me. I approach radio from the listener's point of view (I want to know more about the bands and music we're playin') I'm as much a fan as the next guy!
How I spend my free time:
Any free time I have is spent being DADDY!

The Ultimate Memory

My Favorite Picture!  Look at me Freaking out when Vince Young scored what would be the winning Touchdown at the Rosebowl. I lost my mind as you can imagine!!!!

Billy Applegate has been a friend to so many in and out of the music business.  Billy spent many years out on the road with Kevin Fowler and Doug Moreland.  When Billy wasn’t on the road you could have found him chainsaw carving with Doug Moreland at Cattelac’s in Manchaca, or living behind River Road Icehouse (in the days of the Compound),  or more than likely helping someone out with something that needed to built, fixed or renovated.  Billy was always there…ready to help with a smile on his face, hours of funny stories to help pass the time, and a beer in his hand!

Billy also wrote many songs and sometimes you could catch an occasional performance by him on the stage, but almost always by the campfire.

Billy is very sick with cancer and is dire need of our help.  Please plan to attend the show where admittance is free but donations will be encouraged at the door.  Other musicians have also donated merchandise and auction items to help raise money for their friend Billy.

Online auction items and a donation link will be up on this webpage soon if you are not able to make the show and would like to help out.

Keep checking back.

Kevin Costner Country?
Kevin Costner & Modern West will release their debut country album, Untold Truths, to stores on November 11. Yes, that's Kevin Costner the actor, who actually began playing and writing music with band mate John Coinman about 20 years ago when the two met in L.A. at an acting workshop. At that time, he had started a band called Roving Boy, but was too busy once his film career took off. Throughout the years, he's still managed to find some time to play, write and record with some of his band mates, and eventually decided to perform more regularly. The group wrote or co-wrote all 12 of the original songs featured on their upcoming release. One track, "Long Hot Night," is already available for download at all digital music outlets. Kevin Costner & Modern West will tour later this year and into early 2009 in support of the project

Opry Stars To Honor Little Jimmy Dickens
Brad Paisley, Trace Adkins and George Jones will all help the Grand Ole Opry honor its longest-standing member, Little Jimmy Dickens, with a special signature show on Saturday, November 1. Dickens will be celebrating his 60th anniversary as an Opry member. He was first introduced to the famed radio show by Roy Acuff in 1948 and has become known for his trademark sense of humor, rhinestone-studded suits and such hits as "Out Behind The Barn" and "Take An Old Cold Tater And Wait." In recent years, Jimmy stood on top of a kitchen ladder to invite Adkins to join the Opry in 2003 and has appeared in several of Paisley's award-winning music videos.
New Info on Heather...

LOCKLEAR 911 CALL
TMZ got its hands on the 911 tape from the Heather Locklear DUI arrest.  In a bizarre twist, it turns out the tipster who called 911 is a former Us Weekly staffer who hacked into magazine computers to locate celebrities and was following Locklear.  Sources say Jill Ishkanian called 911 when the actress got in her car and immediately called the paparazzi to tell them an arrest was imminent.  Oh, and Ishkanian's also being investigated by the FBIBooked!

Heather Locklear was arrested in Santa Barbara, California, on Saturday on suspicion of driving while under the influence. She was booked and released later that day on her own recognizance, without having to post bail. Alcohol is reportedly not involved, leading police to believe that Locklear was under the influence of drugs or medication.

Though her camp denied it at the time, there were reports that Heather's recent stint in rehab was for alcohol and pills, not just anxiety and depression. Hope she gets help soon for whatever is going on.
